MLB Betting – Even With Issues Surrounding Franchise, Dodgers To Re-Sign Superstar

The past 24 months have been an absolute embarrassment for the Los Angeles Dodgers’ organization, a tribute to everything that could possibly go wrong for the ownership at the top. But with the owner’s pending divorce and the failure to avoid bankruptcy happening behind the scenes, the team on the field wasn’t that bad, with one of the game’s biggest superstar’s among the biggest sports betting reasons for it. Matt Kemp put forward an MVP-caliber season for the Dodgers in 2011, and even though the team was never truly in contention for a postseason spot, the 27-year old clearly represents a solid foundation for an unstable franchise to build around. That is why it is so important for Los Angeles to bring Kemp back in to the fold long-term, something that it appears they are on the verge of doing.

The Dodgers are expected to sign Kemp to an eight-year, $160 million contract that will keep the superstar with the club in to the 2020 season. The deal will make Kemp the highest paid players in the history of the cost per head organization, easily surpassing the $105 million deal that pitcher Kevin Brown signed with the club back in 1998. While the team still has a long way to go to be considered championship caliber, ownership clearly feels that Kemp represents the perfect piece to build around, and that is why the Dodgers will look past the issues plaguing the team and resign their intertops All Star.
