MLB Betting – Red Sox, Dodgers Each With Three Gold Glove Winners

Although neither team made it to the 2011 playoffs, both the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers were well represented in this year’s Gold Glove announcements with three winners from each team. While their tumultuous seasons will best be remembered for epic collapses, drinking in the clubhouse, and bitter divorce settlements, it turns out that the product on the field wasn’t that bad at all. Clayton Kershaw, Matt Kemp, and Andre Ethier were the three players named Gold Glove winners for the Dodgers, while Adrian Gonzalez, Dustin Pedroia, and Jacoby Ellsbury became the first three Red Sox players in 32 seasons to win the American League sports betting honor together.

While the awards are a bright intertops spot on an otherwise tough season for both teams, there was one played from the National League list of Gold Glove winners that must be even more happy with the addition of another trophy to his hardware. Catcher Yadier Molina was the only member of the World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals to be recognized with a Gold Glove, although it’s hard to imagine any of his teammates feeling very disappointed that they didn’t win. The runner up Texas Rangers had one Gold Glove winner in Adrian Beltre, and it was no surprise that outfielder Nelson Cruz wasn’t among the pay head names listed. The other teams with multiple winners included the Cincinnati Reds from the NL with Brandon Phillips and Joey Votto and the Baltimore Orioles with Nick Markakis and Matt Wieters.
